Britain allowed filming in the Foreign Secretary’s office, which was rarely donated
Synopsis
In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler is thrust into an ill-suited job with geopolitical consequences for her marriage and political future. Producers convinced the American and British governments to allow real-life locations to be used as filming locations for the series, including the still-recent American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018. A tribute to any film or screen production, especially an American production.
) The characters are brilliantly written and each is somewhat of a mystery
The only remaining location is Winfield House, the actual home of the American ambassador. Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential area (11 hectares) in London outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming. Their dialogue is fast-paced and engaging, and the story constantly evolves into a chaotic political direction.
It feels similar to Night Agent but better
It doesn’t have a strong tone like other similar shows. I like the comparison to House of Cards, but it doesn’t quite fit the bill. It has a hint of a sequel, but again, not the real thing.
He is good at work, so no one cares about his behavior
I see reviews complaining about the lead, messy look and abrasive behavior, but that’s his hole thing! “You want people who *don’t* want to be in power.” What you wear, how you look, and even when you sleep take second place to your primary mission. His style fits the narrative well and I think it’s a refreshing change.
I really hope we see an s2
It’s rare that I like all the characters in a series, but this one did for me.
