Synopsis
Serial adaptation of James Patterson’s novels about the complicated and brilliant detective Alex Cross
Aldis Hodge talks about starring in and producing the crime drama ‘Cross’, making him known as an actor and producer, and his commitment to promoting diverse stories through his production work. Hodge is the third actor to portray Cross, following in the footsteps of Morgan Freeman, who first played him on screen in 1997 and #39; with Kiss the Girls and again in the 2001 film sequel Along Came a Spider; and Tyler Perry as the title character in 2012’s Alex Cross, which bombed at the box office and led Lionsgate to cancel a previously planned sequel to Double Cross.. I haven’t seen the entire series yet, so I can only comment on the first 3 episodes, but I definitely drawn into & to find Aldis Hodge the great Alex Cross.
Ignore this & just watch episode hour 2 & make up your mind
It’s engaging, bold as the story became clear in the first few episodes, with a mysterious building. Unfortunately, some of the reviews here are quite clearly negative because they have their own opinions about race. Hopefully when you see episode 1 you’ll see that the guy they asked at the beginning probably has the same views as some of the people here.
I’m sorry if some people don’t like it
Don’t listen to the obvious bigots, these problems ARE widespread & unfortunately common these days, so why not shed some light on it. 2 things bothered me; Firstly, I agree with some of the comments regarding the lighting, it is very dark & I strained my eyes a bit, but it wasn’t terrible. Second, this may seem petty, but the captain had very stereotypical, old-fashioned views, always being upset with Cross despite his excellent police record, rude, etc.
It seemed a bit cliché to me
And I was also really distracted by her hair lol, no way a woman of such high standing wears her hair down like that, it looked weird, especially with her police hat on, I didn’t think it fit right! Minor issue, but I found it a little distracting! I’ve read most of James Patterson’s books and this definitely deviates from them, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Give it a try, watch a few episodes & I think you’ll want to watch the whole series
Beware if you don’t want any spoilers skip the last bit of episode 1 as it has "this season on Cross…" preview I didn’t watch because I don’t want spoilers & I felt it was not necessary. Your guide to all the new movies and shows streaming this month on Prime Video in the US.
